About the Event
Join clinical herbalist, teacher, author of Medicinal Plants of the Southern Appalachians, and Director of the BotanoLogos School of Herbal Studies, Patricia Kyritsi Howell for a leisurely plant walk to learn about the wild herbs of early summer. With the forest as our classroom, we’ll explore the many native and naturalized herbs that grow wild in the Southern Appalachians.
This plant walk will take place at a private greenspace located about 2 hours from Atlanta, Asheville, and Greenville near Clayton, GA. Participants who purchase tickets will be emailed the exact location with directions and other important reminders the week before the event.
Suggested items to bring: Participants should feel comfortable walking up to 2 miles. When walking on the wooded trails, we recommend closed-toe shoes with socks and long pants/sleeves to protect against poison ivy and insects. Please bring a water bottle, notebook and pen, backpack, light rain jacket, sun protection, bug spray, and anything else you may need to feel comfortable outdoors.
