About the Event
Join us for our very first foraging tour of the spring season! On this walking tour, we will introduce you to some of our favorite wild edible and medicinal plants to gather in springtime. Many of these plants are considered "spring tonics" and possess properties that rejuvenate the body after a sedentary winter.
We are committed to helping you learn about ethical wildcrafting and how to be outstanding stewards. A very important question that we will ask on the trail is "how do we know which wildflowers NOT TO PICK?!" You will learn which species are nonnative and invasive and which are native, endangered, and not to be harvested.
Included on the tour is a refreshing spring equinox tea and light wild foods snack. At the end of our walk, participants will also have an opportunity to make their own spring tonic to take home - helping to set the pace for a healthy year ahead.
The location for this walk is TBD as we will wait to see where the best blooms will be! Participants who register will receive an email announcing our special forest location as we get closer to the foray date. The location of our walk will be within a 20-30 minute drive of Downtown Clayton, GA.
