About the Event
Have you ever wanted to forage for wild edible mushrooms but are not sure where to start?
In this beginners course, participants will have the opportunity to learn from certified wild mushroom food safety specialist, Chef Eric Pitts, about identifying different edible species of fungi that grow in the Southern Appalachian forest. After a brief presentation covering basic information and safety tips, we will hunt the vineyard trails for mushrooms to study. We'll then return to the vineyard pavilion for a wine tasting and wild foods cooking demonstration where you will get to sample what we make.
This experience is perfect for food and nature lovers who enjoy spending time outdoors and want to learn more about safe, sustainable, and ethical foraging practices...and enjoy some delicious local food and wine!
Terra Incognita Vineyard is located at 1821 Vandiver Mtn. Rd., Clarkesville, GA.
