About the Event
Join us for a half-day nature immersion with Cara-Lee Langston of Wildcraft Kitchen where you can learn to safely identify and ethically-harvest wild foods and medicinal herbs. We will meet at Alarka HQ at the Cowee School near Franklin, NC. After a short introduction, we will head to a nearby trail to search for wild plants that can be used as food or medicine. Participants will have an opportunity to make their own wild snack using sustainably harvested forest foods and locally grown ingredients. Please feel free to bring a bagged lunch or other snacks to enjoy as we will end our morning of foraging with a lovely summer picnic along the LittleTennessee River. Moderate walking required.
This foraging tour is hosted by our friends and program partners, Alarka Expeditions. Click the ticket link to register through their website.
