Wildcraft & Wine Foraging Tour & Tasting
Time & Location
Jun 12, 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Clarkesville, 1821 Vandiver Mountain Rd, Clarkesville, GA 30523, USA
About the Event
Explore Terra Incognita Vineyard's mixed forest trail with us! Featuring species of oak, birch, beech, sourwood, poplar, pine, hickory, and more. This is a good time of year to hunt for edible milky mushrooms (Lactarius/Lactifluus), coral fungi, and it's the start of the season for chanterelle mushrooms! Many plants will be blooming and fruiting as we celebrate the summer solstice coming up just around the corner. Discussions will include safety, foraging etiquette, ethnobotany, and more.
After our walk, we will return to the beautiful winery pavilion and enjoy a wild foods tasting and wine. Non-alcoholic options are also available. This experience is perfect for food and nature lovers who enjoy spending time outdoors and want to learn more about safe, sustainable, and ethical foraging practices.
Terra Incognita Vineyard is located at 1821 Vandiver Mtn. Rd., Clarkesville, GA.
Note: this is a remote location. You will travel down a 1 mile gravel USFS road before reaching the entrance to the property. Visit www.terraincognitavineyard.com for directions. Do not rely on plug-in dashboard GPS. Google Maps is most reliable.
